Oct.16th Halloween Festival at Ayashi Primary School

10月16日（土）に開催される、愛子小学校でのハロウィーンフェスティバルに、仙台ジュニアクリケットクラブも参加し、クリケット道具を使用したゲームを提供します。

校庭では、仙台クリケットクラブのメンバーが公開練習をします。クリケットがどんなものなのか、みていただく機会になれば幸いです。

そこでは、オーストラリア流ホットドックも販売する予定です。秋の空の下、ホットドックをほうばりつつクリケットを眺めてみませんか？おまちしています。

On October.16th,Halloween Festival will be held at Ayashi primary school. We are going to join the event and offer some games using cricket tools at a booth in the gym.

In the school yard,some of Sendai Cricket Club will do some exhibition match.

We hope this could give you a  good chance to know  what cricket is.

We are also selling Australian Hotdog there.

Why don't you munch a hotdog while seeing cricket games under the beautiful autumn sky?

めっきり秋らしくなってきました。練習するのにとても気持ちのいい季節です。
先週に引き続き、キャッチングの練習とボーリングの練習を行いました。
毎週毎週それぞれが成長していっているのを感じます。クリケットを始めて、早くも半年がたちました。一生懸命がんばっているみんなを見ると、幸せ。なんていうか心洗われるとでもいいましょうか。
クリケットのボーリングは、これまた難しい。
肘をまげてはいけないし、ワンバウンドさせて投げる。
ウィケットをめがけて投げ、どんどん距離を長くしていく練習をしました。

The weather has suddenly become cooler and looking more like fall.
It's comfortable time for practicing.Following the last week's practice,We did catching and bawling. Everyweek I feel that each one is improving.Six months have past already and now,watching everybody's enthusiastic face makes me happy.Somehow I feel refreshed.
Cricket's bawling is difficult.You cannot bend your elbows and make one bound. Chris had the kids aim wickets and gradually extend the range.
Next week we are going to practice batting. See you soon!

今日はキャッチングの練習を行いました。低いボールを受けるときは、脚は横向きで片膝を付けて壁を作りボールを受け止めるようにします。こうすると手をすり抜けてしまった場合でも足で作った壁でボールを止められるそうです。キャッチングについても、日本クリケット協会の説明がありますのでご参考まで。http://www.cricket.or.jp/01/126.php

ゲームのとき先攻か後攻を決めるのに、バットの裏表を使用します。「ルーフ/ROOF」か「フラット/FLAT」をバットが倒れるまえに宣言します。屋根のような形の側がルーフ、平らな形の側がフラットです。

クリスがノックして、みんなでキャッチングを行いました。だんだんボールを止められるようになってきました。ゲームのときにもしっかり拾っていこう！　　
Today,we practiced catching.When you catch a bounder, go on a knee sideways and make a wall with your leg then you can stop the ball even if your hands miss it.  Japan Cricket Association has a nice explanation about catching, please take a look at    http://www.cricket.or.jp/01/126.php


Before starting a game,a bat is used to decide which team goes first. Call "Roof" or "Flat" before the bat flops down  the ground.
Chris hit balls and the kids tried to catch them. They are  improving gradually.Well let's keep on the good job everyone!

 今日はバッティング（Batting）を中心に練習をおこないました。
クリケットの打ち方は、野球と少し違っているので慣れるまで何回も練習が必要です。日本クリケット協会のホームページに打ち方が記載されていますのでご参考にしてくださいね。バットの握り方から打ち方までクリスがとても丁寧に説明してくれました。暑さも収まって運動しやすい時期になりましたね。この調子でどんどん練習して、そのうち関東地区のチームとの試合もありかも。

September 14th　2010
Today, our practice was  focused on batting. The way of  batting  is a bit different from the one we used  to know in baseball so we need to practice until we get used to it. Japan Cricket Association's web site has a page about batting so please take a look at it.Chris taught  us very carefully from how to hold a bat to how to hit the ball.
After the long sweltering heat, finally the weather has become  great for enjoying sports.
If we continue like this, working  hard, then in the near future, there might be a chance to have a game with other teams in Kanto area.

すみません、「暑い」としか書けなくて。でも本当に暑いんです。
しかしながら、みんなとろけそうになりつつ今日も全員参加してくれました。ありがとう～

そして本日来れなくなってしまったChrisのピンチヒッターとして新しい先生が来てくれました。名前はNtshadiさんです。南アフリカのヨハネスブルグ出身だそうです。
南アフリカ、ヨハネスブルグとくれば、そう、まだ記憶に新しいサッカーワールドカップ！
持ってきてくれましたのはあの「ブブセラ」不肖ながらわたくしも一発ふかせていただきましたよ。ぶおーっと。あれ、ぶおーっと？？？ならないではないですか。ぷすーっつ。すーっつ。吹けばぶおーっとなるというものではないらしいです。
南アフリカのこと、色々きけたでしょうか？とても明るくて素敵な先生でしたね！

南アフリカのナショナルスポーツといえば、サッカー、ラグビー、そしてそう「クリケット」なのだそうです。
今日の練習は、投げ方、ラピッドファイヤーなどを行いました。

Ah, sorry I cannot say anything except "HOT"  because the weather is really hot.
Although  almost melting,everyone showed up.  Thank you!
We had a new coach today as a pinch -hit for Chris who could not make it today.
Her name is Ntshadi, from South Africa.
When it comes to Johannesburg, in South Africa, don't you remember something?Yes! It's still fresh in our mind, the World Cup Soccer games! She brought a vuvuzela with her so I also wanted to make the "buoooo buooo" sound but all I could hear was just the sound of the air. There seems to be some nack of it.
Well, did you ask her a lot about South Africa?
She was very cheerful and nice!
Do you know South Africa's national sports? Yeah, Soccer,rugby and"yes! it's cricket"
Today, we practiced throwing, rapidfires and etc.

ホットドックの食パンバージョンとでもいいましょうか。
オーストラリアやニュージーランドでよく食べられるスタイルです。
食パンに、焼いたソーセージとオニオンをはさみケチャップをかけて。これ、今度のハロウィーンフェスティバルで仙台対盛岡の試合中販売するのはどうかなーと考えています。
シンプルだけれど、いいにおいが見物人を呼び込んでくれそうではないですか。


Sausage　Sizzle： a New Zealand style of hot dog
It uses sliced bread instead of bun. Grilled sausages  and onions are sandwiched and some tomato sause are on top of them.
How about serving this at the S.C.C. vs M.C.C. match site during the Halloween Festival.
It is very simple but the yammy smell would attract lots of  visitors.

これほど暑い日が続くのは、仙台では本当に珍しいことです。
みなさんもどうぞ熱中症にならないように気をつけてくださいね。
本日ビジター一名。メンバーのR君の弟くんです。暑さにも負けず、がんばりました。

10月に愛子小学校で行われるハロウィーンフェスティバルの日に
当クラブの紹介をかねてブースを提供する計画です。また、盛岡クリケットチームM.C.C.が来仙し、
同日に校庭で仙台クリケットチームS.C.C.と試合をします。
ご都合のつくかたは、見学にぜひいらしてください。
実際の試合を間近に見られるよい機会になればと思っています。

It is really rare to have such a long spell of hot weather in Sendai.
Please be careful not to get heat stroke everyone.
We had a visitor today. He was a younger brother of one of our members.He showed his gut despite of the  hot weather.

We are planning on participating the Halloween Festival which will be held on October at Ayashi primary school. We are introducing our club via offering some small games at a booth.
Plus Morioka Cricket Club will show up to play with Sendai Cricket Club. They are going to play at the school yard on the day. Please come and cheer them up as this will give us a good opportunity to understand how to play the cricket.
